NEW FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM FOR TESTING LABORATORIES

Harding Energy, in cooperation with the US Navy, has developed a new fire suppression system for the safe testing of any lithium based battery products. The new system consists of a rack system for holding the batteries (or packs) on test, and having a fire suppression medium suspended above the batteries on test. If at any time the batteries malfunction and ignite, the flames will melt the thin layer of material holding the suppression medium in suspension, and then the medium will drop onto the batteries and put the fire out. The entire system takes less than 30 seconds to operate. View the video below to see the entire system.
